The repertoire for this concert is selected to prompt reflection on Mother Teresa’s life of service and to provide inspiration for our individual journeys. Mother Teresa offers an example of selfless charity, with meaning for our own times. Featured are four US premieres by Thoma Gaqi, Genc Tukiçi, Holst, and Maestro Dante Anzolini, as well as pieces by three living US composers with ties to New York City: Philip Glass, Nico Muhly, and Missy Mazzoli. Ms. Nakatani will be joining the performance as a member of the Tribute Chorale.

“Sopranos Lindsay Nakatani and Courtney San Martin from Bronx Opera, sang an excerpt from Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites which was presented in its entirety a few weeks later. The singers were introduced as “covers,” and, as a tribute to understudies everywhere, they were pitch perfect." —Schmopera
